What’s the difference between a wedding ring and a wedding band?

A wedding ring and a wedding band are essentially the same — both are exchanged during a wedding ceremony. The term "band" often refers to a simpler, solid metal design, while "ring" can include more elaborate styles with gemstones such as opals and rubies.

An engagement ring is given during the proposal and usually features a prominent gemstone. A wedding ring (or band) is exchanged during the ceremony and is simpler.

Traditionally, wedding rings are worn on the left hand’s fourth finger. However, some cultures prefer the right hand. It’s a personal or cultural choice.

To maintain the beauty of your jewelry, avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, store pieces separately to prevent scratches, and clean them gently with a soft cloth.
